Personal Stages of Response in Aftermath of Disaster

Have you ever been involved in a crisis, whether a horrible accident, natural disaster or whatever comes to mind?

What do you reckon the common stages are in the face of the aftermath of disaster?

I'm thinking:
Stages: Exposure - emotion - evaluate - engage - empower.

What do ya reckon?

What'd I miss?

I think depending on the way the emotion part of the equation is dealt with, & what resources are on hand, it dramatically changes the outcomes. So evaluation may not be accurate, engagement may not occur and empowerment may never eventuate.
