otiose: another new word

o·ti·ose

[oh-shee-ohs, oh-tee-]
adjective
1.
being at leisure; idle; indolent.
2.
ineffective or futile.
3.
superfluous or useless.

Don't think I've EVER seen or used this word before . . . . probably heard it along the way, but didn't understand what was being said. Context gives me heaps o'hints.
