What do you think of UN?

I rarely think of the UN as a connector of families, but that is the very story I heard today from my friends from central Africa.

Their family has been found in a Ugandan refugee camp. They thought they were all dead.

The parents, a sister and two younger brothers are together with some nieces and nephews. They can actually talk to them on the phone.

Imagine that first conversation, hearing those voices you thought you'd never hear again, that you last heard crying and running and shouting for fear of their very lives.

The UN's database connected the dots, connected the people.

I.T. people did that.
