Manning Men and Momma's Mixed Allegiance

3 Manning family quarterbacks - Archie, Peyton and Eli.

Archie was selected in the 1971 NFL draft by the New Orleans Saints with the second overall selection. Archie ended his 13-year career having completed 2,011 of 3,642 passes for 23,911 yards and 125 touchdowns, with 173 interceptions. He also rushed for 2,197 yards and 18 touchdowns.

Peyton is the quarterback of the Indianapolis Colts and was the first selection in the 1998 NFL Draft. He attended the University of Tennessee and has all kinds of records. He led the Colts to a 29-17 victory in Super Bowl XLI over the Chicago Bears on February 4, 2007. He also won the Super Bowl MVP Award and this year's NFL MVP award. Peyton finally broke the drought of Super Bowl success in the family.

Eli is the starting quarterback of the New York Giants and was the first overall selection in the 2004 NFL Draft. Like his father, he attended Ole Miss and played as the Rebels' starting quarterback. He led his team to win the Superbowl in 2008.

What mother in the world would dream she'd have two Superbowl champion sons back to back and that they'd both be QB's?

So another Superbowl game for a Manning, though not the result we'd hoped for.
The New Orleans Saints connection is an interesting one. Archie musta had all kinds of mixed emotions, though pulling for his son today, I'm sure.
