Free Applications & Tools via LifeHacker

Lifehacker provides some amazing info and links for us all year long. I personally do not know what half of the following applications are for. I recognise and use many. I thought of deleting some, but thought that was silly as we all need and use different things.

Read through the brief explanations and click on the links if you think your computerised life might be enhanced by these free tools and applications.

I'm going to try out the Google Voice and a few others like Evernote. I already use VLC, Gmail,Google Calendar & Google Reader as well as Open Office for a word processor.

I know a friend who works for Microsoft says their Security Essentials are all PC users need now.
